"Colors Glorious"

An October 2003 trip to Lake of the Ozarks by sound man

Quote: WorldMark Lake of the Ozarks. The resort is right on the lake. The mornings were mysteriously misty. When the sun would shine thru the colors came alive. Green, poinsetta red, pumpkin orange, and yellow and blue skies. The sunsets could light up the sky with red. God did good!
Ha Ha Tonka state park is beautiful. They draw you there by a European-style mansion built in 1905. The mansion had 60 rooms at one time but only the exterior walls exist because of a fire in 1942. Go up there for the view. Look down at the spring down the side of the cliff, then drive there. Follow the signs to Ha Ha Tonka Spring. Walk on the wooden pathway to the spring. The water so clear, ducks swimming and eating the "duckweed" which is a small clover-like plant that lies on top of the water that at first it looks like moss.
