Nassau - Westwind II

A September 2003 trip to Nassau by ebglenn

Quote: The villa was perfect for what we needed. The small size of the resort made it quaint and special. Lovely and Wanda at the bar was delightful. Everything was just a bus ride away.

Overview

Quote:
Party Cat booze/snorkel cruise with Captain Brian. Food, drinks, music, and entertainment were great!

Quick Tips:

Food is considerably more expensive. We did a few breakfast and dinner meals in. The grocery store was close. Beer is expensive, even their local brew. Try drinking liquor!

Best Way To Get Around:

Take the 10 bus. It's each way.

Best Things Nearby:Beach, downtown (shopping), casino, zoo.Best Things About the Resort:It's a small resort. Everybody knew everybody; many owners have owned for many years and they all knew each other. It was one big family. The employees would remember your name. That was special. Great sandwiches and mixed drinks (they have some special ones) and fairly inexpensive compared to other places. Service was always friendly and quick. Perfect for lunch or just snacks.

A bus picks you up at your resort and takes you to the harbor. Start drinking as soon as you leave the harbor. Arrive at a small island and snorkel the reef just off the island. Then the boat parks on the shore and lunch is served. You can enjoy the beach and the water for the remainder of the trip. It's about a three or four hour excursion. Great music is played too!
