An amazing wedding on the most beautiful beach.

Cayman Wedding

Overview

from the resort - it was great!
Scuba, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, swimming, the turtle farm, and all the rum cake you can eat! Or do nothing except sleep in a hammock or snooze on the beach.

Quick Tips:

Bring a hat, sunscreen, more than one swim suit, and extra . Flowers for very expenisve for weddings. You can arrange everything ahead of time online, or do it once you get there, it only takes about half a day.

Best Way To Get Around:

Rent a car, Andy's car rental has a RCI discount. They've got vans for 11 to convertibles for two.

Resort Experience:
Home away from home -- you won't want to leave. The pool melts in to the ocean, which melts in to the sky! Five pools and a beach -- what more could you want on vacation?

There is a full size bed in the bedroom, and a pullout couch in the living room. There is a full kitchen, but no dishwasher. The rooms are changed and cleaned daily, by an amazing staff. There is a gym and spa as well. The resort offers VCR rentals, but there are no stereo systems. There is no in room jacuzzi, but lots of hot tubs at the five pools. Each room has a deck or balcony and a pool or OCEAN view!

You will need a car to get around, or pay $10 each way for the taxi to take you into town. The car rentals are cheap, and it seemed like a safe place to drive, as long as you stay on the left.

We couldn't have asked for anything more for our wedding dinner. The outside gazeboo felt like we were right on the beach. The staff were accommodating to diet restrictions and everyone was full, but there was still room for dessert! AMAZING! Our best dinner ever. Martain was our waiter. Dinner is about $100 US per person, there is a multitude of menu options, and if you ask for anything, the staff will get it for you.

Ocean Frontiers

would you want to do the morning of your wedding?
Ocean Frontiers was an amazing place to go diving for our group of nine first-time divers. My husband is now addicted and EVEN WENT DIVING THE MORNING OF OUR WEDDING! Ocean Frontiers has a van that will pick you up and bring you back. The young staff is experienced, friendly, patient, and VERY welcoming. The facilities are well kept and everyone makes you feel very comfortable. I was very nervous, but the staff went above and beyond during our pool free trial and at the facilites. I really can't say enough about this place. According to their online newsletter there is now a restaurant across from the shop as well.

The Atlantis Submarine is a great tour. Don't be fooled by the pictures, though - no one we knew saw any fish, but the shipwreck and the grey fish we did see were neat. We went for the night dive, and the anticipation of going in the sub and going down were well worth the cost. At least we can say we were in a sub - FROM CANADA - and that we went under the ocean and saw the coral walls. The staff are very funny and friendly, lots of room on the sub to move around, and you can take photos, but ours did not turn out.

The island tour from the resort was only $35 a person and was well worth our time and money. The bus driver was very friendly and reminded us that left was right, and right was wrong!! What he showed us in a day - blowholes, turtle farm, rum factory, hell and georgetown, would probably have taken us two days and cost a lot more. The van fit 11 people comfortably, and there was lots of free time for photos and to eat. We got a little bit of history, humour and lots of great memories!

stingray
As a group, we got a deal. The catamaran that took us out was clean, and the staff were friendly, but not overly helpful getting people in the water, and they expected you knew what you were doing. This is still the best place to go for your stingray tour, as it is only 15 minutes from Morritt's and fairly cheap. We had an amazing view of everything, more than we had thought, and we'll never forget it.

This was the worst part of our visit, and unfortunately this man came recommended by the resort. The boat was so small that only three people should have been on it. The nine of us left and did not realize until later there weren't even enough life jackets for everyone! There was no fishing, just trailing. We didn't catch any fish. Not a good way to end our vacation/wedding week, but I know we will forget this part and remember all the amazing experiences we had in Cayman!
