Not Gambling in Las Vegas

Overview

Quote:
We saw Hoover Dam from a few different prospectives. We drove to Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire State Park, visited Boonie Springs, and saw the highlights of the large casinos on the strip.

Quick Tips:

Pick up as many brochures and coupons as you can at the airport, car rental counter, and lobbies of hotels. You never know what great discounts you may find!

Best Way To Get Around:

We rented a car since we were staying a little off the beaten track and wanted to visit some other places besides the Strip.

Best Things Nearby:Good restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, and within a five minute drive.Best Things About the Resort:The units are clean and comfortable with a very functional layout in the two-bedroom units for two couples.Resort Experience:If you want to spend all your time on the Strip, this is NOT the timeshare for you. This restaurant has a nice homey feel to it with really good food. Try the meatloaf or chicken pot pie for a good filling meal. They are also open for breakfast.

Hoover Dam

Attraction

I really thought that Hoover Dam might be a little boring, but it wasn't at all. The tour at the Dam is interesting and you can stay for as long as you want after the brief tour. We also saw the Dam from the Paddle Boat Tour on Lake Mead. This was a relaxing ride. The boat is older and when we went during the week there were only four other people taking the tour. I would recommend this to those of you who aren't particularly adventuresome. The view of the Dam we enjoyed the most was from the Black Canyon Raft Tour. I would definitely recommend taking this tour! Our guide was great and made the tour lots of fun. There is no white water involved on this trip! In fact, if you really wanted t...Read More
