Best Things Nearby:
Torquay, Paignton, Dartmouth (Castle)

Best Things About the Resort:
Gym was good, pub next door served wide selection of meals.

Resort Experience:
Our unit was fairly well equipped, but in need of refurbishment. No full oven, though there was a microwave/combination oven. Units on two floors with views over the Teign estuary. Short drive to Newton Abbott and the "English Riviera", so plenty to see and do.

Best Things Nearby:
Cornish countryside

Best Things About the Resort:
Location, spacious unit, good gym and pool facilities, setting (on country estate).

Resort Experience:
We stayed in a two-bedroom patio home. It had a well equipped kitchen, twp good-sized bedrooms, with a third bunk bed room and sofa bed in lounge. Unit was a two-story house. The estate is beautiful and plenty of scope for walkers, with a golf course on site (expensive for what it is). The bar is good, a la carte restaurant good, but don't bother with carvery. Staff prepared to correct problems. One of the best English resorts we have visited.

Restaurant

Wide menu, generous portions, and good service. A pub just outside Camborne on road to Praze-an-Beeble. I went for lunch with friends and had a meat platter--there was enough for two on each plate and the meat was good too. Very handy for Clowance Estate.

The Eden Project: Visitor CenterBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "The Eden Project"

This is billed as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The walk down is impressive with two vast bio-spheres, one tropical and one temperate. It's not a cheap day out, but there's a great conservation message throughout the place. They're still developing and there's a third bio-sphere planned.

Restaurants/snack bars all sell different foods, so there's plenty of choice. I enjoyed my day. Take good walking shoes!

Dartmouth CastleBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Managed by English Heritage and just outside Dartmouth, this is a well preserved castle. Plenty to see and do for an hour or two. Displays show the usage of the castle (protecting the mouth of the river Dart) from Tudor times right up to the twentieth century.

Well worth it if you are members of English Heritage. For others the price is about £5.00. Kids will enjoy the displays.
