Quote: This was our first visit to Shawnee and we stayed in the River Village II unit. It only took a little over an hour to get there from our NYC home. The resort was clean, had a beautiful indoor recreation area with pool, games, cafe, and basketball.

Golfing at Shawnee was great fun. The course is tough, but quite beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The indoor pool was very nice and my 6 month old granddaughter had a ball. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have any deep water. The miniature golf looked great, but it closed by 5pm each night and it was sunny out until nearly 8pm! The grounds are breathtaking and my husband and I enjoyed taking morning walks up the mountains. We went to the Crossing Outlets three times and our kids had a ball there too. The unit was clean and quite large. There was a TV in the living room and both bedrooms. The kitchen is well stocked, just remember salt and pepper. The dining room had six chairs and plenty of space. There was a screened-in porch with chairs. The main bath had an oversized jacuzzi, which was very relaxing after an action-filled day.

I'm a beginner at golf and my husband has been playing 2 years. We had a great time with some challenging holes and water obstacles. However, we both found it tough and enjoyed every minute of it. There were groups out for a tournament and they were still able to accommodate us to go out as a double.
