An August 2000 trip to Puerto Plata by Joe Puccio

This was my first family trip with my wife and stepchildren. We traveled with my sister-in-law and niece. This is where we bought our timeshare. The name of the resort is Paradise Beach Club and Casino. We had a great time.

We went on a catamaran trip to an isolated part of the Dominican Republic. The natives cooked lunch for us and were one of the most friendliest peoples we've ever met.

Quick Tips:

If you do not like the heat, do not travel to the DR in the summertime.

Best Way To Get Around:

Mostly, we stayed in the resort. If we went out of the resort, it was to go on day trips.

The suites were beautiful. Ours had two levels: a living room area and a master bedroom downstairs, and a bathroom and separate bedroom upstairs. The room was cleaned daily and was decorated very well.

Attraction

The beach was amazing. The water is very clean and not rough. We enjoyed the islanders selling their souvenirs. There is a bar on the beach and music. If you are not comfortable with topless women, this is not the beach for you.
