Hotel | "Sheration's Desert Oasis"

Best Things Nearby:
The Cheesecake Factory! Great shopping center at Kierland.

Best Things About the Resort:
Fantastically easy access to the 101 Freeway (in sight from the resort). The pool area was the centerpeice of the resort and not to be missed. Terrific waterfall over the pool and spay in a grotto.

Resort Experience:
The rooms are very nice and well maintained with a very large bathroom. There are a lot of units, but you would not know it. It's wonderfully quiet in early morning watching the world from your balcony. Very friendly staff! Activities for all ages. Only issue was teens overrunning the pool at night.

Restaurant

This restaurant was not as busy as some Cheesecake Factories we have been to, and the service was fast. As always at Cheesecake Factory you get a lot of food for the money. It was great.

This was a Mongolian only restaurant that had a fairly extensive choice of menu items to have grilled. The service was mediocore, but the portions were unlimited.

If you like Asian food, you'll want to try this restauarant! It's very unusual. The waiter sits down with you and reviews the menu. It is a mix of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Korean call fusion. It's very spicy and very innovative, not something you will find anywhere else! A little difficult to find (on the end of a building in a shopping center), but well worth it!

This is one of Phoenix's finer restauarants and is on the golf course in The Phonecian, which is one the fanciest resorts in the area. The food was not bad, but not great. The view was not as expected as it was not placed on the golf course in an area to see very far. The service was poor.

This is a garden of various cactus and desert plants, and is one of the biggest collectios you will ever see. The paths each go into different replicas of climates of Arizona to show the plants of each native area. It was extremely hot and is unshaded. It was disappointing the gift shop closes early. If you are into cactus, this is the place to visit.

Attraction

We went early in the morning (they open at 7am) and beat the heat. We were asked by the staff if we wanted to go behind the scenes and help feed the animals! Very memorable! Staff also gave us lots of info on the animals as they were feeding. We felt like we were the only guests in the park!

Attraction

This is a very modern complex and has a wide variety of art for all interests. They house a pretty extensive collection as well as a large exhibit of southwestern art through the years and an interesting exhibit of Phoenix in the 1950s.
