Hotel | "Club Regina Puerto Vallarta at Westin"

Best Things Nearby:
The marina, beach, Walmart, Corona factory, airport, and 15 minute ride to downtown Vallarta.

Best Things About the Resort:
Gorgeous resort, rooms with jacuzzi on the balcony facing the ocean, washer and dryer next to the elevators for free, pleasant people, maids were a blessing and did a wonderful job every day. They had seven pools with a swim up bar. Excellent, excellent, excellent. You have to be there to experience this.

Resort Experience:
We had a family of 12. They even asked us where we would like to stay. So we asked for a room with a view of the ocean. They put us up in the 8th floor rooms 856, 857, 858, 859, 860, and 861. We had the whole floor to ourselves. We had a total of four bedrooms with a heavenly king size bed, TV, and a Jacuzzi tub in the balcony with two bistro chairs and a table facing the ocean in each room. The two kitchens had a regular size fridge, a dishwasher and bathroom with a standing shower. The living room had a dining table with 4 chairs, a coffee table with side tables, a sofa with pull-out bed, a chair, TV wall unit, iron and ironing board. The two-bedroom unit can house up to 6 people very comfortable. When we went out of the unit we faced the marina. We saw and heard the big cruise ships that came and left. At night, the ships would leave and their lights on them are gorgeous. The maids were excellent. They came everyday changed our towels and made our beds. Cleaned every room and never had a problem with missing personal belongings.

The food at the resort was a bit pricey and but the food and atmosphere are nice. The lobby and the resort itself is amazing the colors of fuchsia and marigold yellows made it look very tropical. At night when it is all light up, it looked like a cruise ship itself.

The sunsets every morning and evening was a moment you don't want to miss. We went during September and it only rained at 4 or 5pm and 9pm at night. The lighting in the middle of the ocean was something that is amazing. Its really funny how the weather is in September you will have rain and shine the same day. One day, we saw a rainbow from the marina side. We saw where it started and ended that was beautiful to. But one thing is that the weather is very humid during that time so that was not so pleasant. If you want to shed some pounds, it would be good for you to go during that time. The pools were awesome. There are 7 pools how much more can you ask more. There is a fitness room, sauna massage if you like them for only $30 an hour (at the marina in the resort, it will cost you $40, which is not bad). A travel agency for tours if you need them, mini market many more can't finish. This resort has more to brag about.

Los ArbolitosBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Los Arbolitos (The Trees)"

This was a very cool place. They had a traditional Mexican atmosphere. The restaurant has 3 levels. Downstairs is the kitchen and waiting area. The second floor is a souvenir shop. The top floor is where we were seated. The bar is on the third floor and the restrooms are located there too. We sat by the balcony in the corner where we can see the river (Rio Cuale) right by the restaurant. This was very romantic and relaxing with Mexican music. The food was awesome. I had a seafood casserole for only US$11. The garlic butter on this was delicious. My brother-in-law had the red snapper grilled with a special sauce that was good also. I can list more, but there were 12 of us, so the list will go on and on. To sum it all up, you have to be there to know. The food was also presented beautifully and the drinks were awesome. Try the pina coladas. I had a virgin one since I don't drink and it was great. The restaurant is called The Trees maybe because it looks like a tree house. I don't know just go there.

Los ArcosBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

We rented a private yacht for our family of 12. We had the boat from 8 to 8 with a chauffer took you anywhere you like and stayed as long as you like on any island or place. We bought food in Wal-Mart and had a bbq throughout the day with our cases of Corona beers from the Corona factory. It was worth it. They took us to Los Arcos. We snorkeled there for about an hour. We had our own equipment, so we did not need to rent -- that was a plus. We had dolphins swimming by the boats, which was amazing. There was these fish are about 2 feet long and royal blue in color -- yellow fishes, orange fishes, many tropical fishes -- just amazing! The island had many pelicans on the tree branches. There is no land, so the only people will get off the boat are the snorkelers. You would need to stay in the boat if you don't snorkel. If you don't want to get a private yacht, try the shamballa boat. I heard that some people from the hotel took that and had a great time -- they had food and open bar on that boat. The cost was about $30 per person. The boat took them to several places not just this island. I don't remember much. But it is still worth it for $30 per person with open bar.

Corona FactoryBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

The Corona Factory is a must if you drink. It only cost you 30 cents a bottle. That's right my friends. That's it and if you return the bottles, they give you credit back. We bought about 5 cases with 16 bottlesin each.
