Cocoa Beach to Disney

A December 2002 trip to Cocoa Beach by KDG

Cocoa Beach is a great place to stay and still enjoy some time at Disney World.

Best Things Nearby:
The beach with beautiful sunsets and a quick trip to Disney.

Best Things About the Resort:
The timeshare was older, but the units were clean and well kept. Our two-bedroom had a full kitchen, living room and two nice bedrooms, one king and two twins, with a pull-out sofa. We went with friends and felt that we had plenty of privacy. Two 9-year-olds slept on the sofa bed and had a blast. It was nice staying on the relaxing beach. If it was time for a launching for the shuttle, you would be able to view it from your balcony!

Resort Experience:
The timeshare had covered parking, and elevators to get up to the rooms. You did have to travel outside to get to your room, which was rather cold at night. There were nightly dinner menus, but we never ate at the unit. There is a small outside pool that I believe was heated, but you had to sign in and out for towels. We ventured to Orlando and Disney for three nights through the New Year! Great time to spend at Disney. Not too crowded and no hot sun to wear you down. We headed back to the beach after a few days of fun and relaxed before heading back home. Would love to come back during a launch!

This place was a pleasant surprise. It was located right outside of our hotel at the Best Western. They had great steaks, chicken, and seafood. We ate here three times while and had a superb meal every time. Apparently, it used to be a hang out for astronauts and maybe still is! Lots of pictures on the walls. Wish we would have discovered it earlier in the trip!

Attraction

Disney is a package in itself. I never experienced a more upbeat atmosphere. Everyone is happy here! This puts you in a good mood too! The staff is so pleasant and the place is spotless. The rides have long lines, but going during the Christmas and New Year's break allowed for shorter lines and much more fun! We have gone in both July and December and would pick December again in a heart beat! Be sure to spend some of your time on Disney property. The bus system is so nice and it makes for a less stressful trip in and out of the park. We stayed at the Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach, and Dixie Landing. All are moderate resorts. I could not see paying more for a room when you are hardly in it! The maids even make little animals out of your wash clothes and arrange the children's stuffed animals in new spots every day. Disney is a great place for kids and kids at heart!
