Best Things Nearby:Best Things About the Resort:Resort Experience:We were given a guest certificate week at the Mayan Palace in Nuevo Vallarta from my mother-in-law as an anniversary present. Wow! This was our first visit to Mexico and had heard good reviews on visiting Puerto Vallarta. The RCI guide really recommended the Mayan in Nuevo, so we took his advice and I am glad we did. This taco stand is right across the street from the PV Airport. When you go over the crosswalk, it will be to your right. We had the smoked marlin taco and another fish (don't remember what type) taco mixed with shrimp. The marlin taco was fantastic. Decent prices for a huge taco.

We enjoyed our dinner at Fajita Republic in Nuevo Vallarta, not too far from the Mayan Palace. The outdoor atmosphere is relaxing and casual. Good selection of food, friendly staff, and great margaritas.

We were not allowed to snorkel at any of the stops along the way to Yelapa because the water was too murkey. Once we got to Yelapa, the water looked disgusting with some mold looking dots floating on the top of the water. We took a hike up to a waterfall and the way up was so filthy. There was trash everywhere. Children running around in this trash with no shoes. The waterfall was brow...Read More
