Cruising through Glacier Bay National Park

An August 2003 trip to Glacier Bay by Worldwide Juggler

Glacier Bay is a true masterpiece of nature!

While cruising on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Sun, park rangers came on board to explain what we were seeing. Glacier Bay is a land of constant change, with chunks of glacier breaking off or calving; the sound of this is thunderous yet like nothing I’ve heard before. Birds then rush toward the churning waters, eager to eat the sea life that has been revealed. Pieces of broken-off glacier float all around, with numerous whales, seals, and sea otters swimming amongst them. Glacier Bay is the Alaska I’ve always imagined.

Quick Tips:

Cruise ship is the most comfortable way to get around; however, ferry boats are available.
