The best experiences to portray would be that of the many splendid beaches of Rio.

Imagine for once, basking along the beaches of Copacabana or Flamengo.

Visit the botantical gardens there as well as view Sugarloaf mountain.

Brazil is one of my favorite destinations, but Rio takes the pie!

As you view the many clubs or outside cafes, you will be astonished by the beauties, and I mean some of the world's most beautiful women of this world. Check it out and you will not be disappointed.

Quick Tips:

Keep valueables in hotel safe especially jewelry while on the beach. Don't do the common wrong things as keep valueables under beach towel. This is the oldest trick in the book. You must experience a native dish of meat, beans'feijao' and rice. Follow that down with some of the world's best beer made.

Best Way To Get Around:

Visit the Sugarloaf mountain, dress in tennis shoes if possible, ride the cable car, taxis are not bad and seasonally all is even better during the months of their summer around November-March.

If you time your purchase correctly; you may wish to participate the festivities during Carnaval. P.S. leave the wife behind.LOL

Just kidding! All will enjoy! Consider staying at Hotel Gloria.

Caesar Park IpanemaBest of IgoUgo

Hotel | "Caesar Park Hotel"

This hotel is the 'cadillac' of beach front hotels. It is situated directly among the beach of Ipanema. If you remember the girl from Ipanema, she is probally one of the many beautiful princesses strolling outside. You can obtain your reservations via email inquiries, reservations@caesarpark-rio.com

If you choose this hotel, you had better save alot of money, since the royal treatment will earn it here. If you choose not to stay here, at least visit the hotel.

Hotel | "Leme Othon Palace-Copacabana"

Copacabana, the most joyful and beautiful place of the 'wonderful city' where the night is a party. Very well located, it is very close to the most famous points of Rio, only 30 minutes from the International Airport and 15 minutes the Santos Dumont Airport. Rates are around $105-$120 a night. Facilities with; air conditioning, frigobar, telephone, Color TV w/ remote control, room service 24 hs, safe, laundry, shops, and outside parking. And don't forget the beach is directly around you!

Pedra da GáveaBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Pedra da Gavea"

This is a very famous location for hang gliders, overlooking the beaches of Sao Convado. Just one more reason that Rio is called the 'marvelous city'! Your views seen are truly worth the experience. I had only previously experienced non-nature views in the past.To feel such freedom in the air is quite remarkable.

Rio de Janeiro, was discovered on January called (Janeiro in portuguese) 1,1502 by Portuguese seamen who thought they had found a large entrance of a river called (Rio). It was later determined to be called Guanabara Bay. 50-60 years later, French sailors were in Rio areas looking for brazilwood while the Portuguese crown established the city of Sao Sebastiao do Rio de Janeiro. After a few years of fighting, the French were expelled and settlers began to work the land. In the early 1700's, it became a more important city with its population increasing immensely as it became the major shipping area for diamonds and gold that came from Minas Gerais (General Mines). In 1763, the capital of Brazil was moved from Salvador, Bahia (Northern coastal city) to Rio. In 1808, when Napoleon's armies began the invasion of Portugal, the decision was made to transfer the monarch and his court to Rio de Janeiro, where it would remain until 1821. During this time Brazil was elevated in status from a colony to United Kingdom with Portugal. With the advent of Independence Rio became the capital of the new empire. The city prospered by 1891 it had a population of over 500,000 inhabitants. There was actually a time when Brazil was known with a 'Z' and called The United States of Brazil. Hence time changed it to a 'S'. In those days a half a million inhabitants were truly a large population. Rio lost its capital status in 1960, with the existance of Brasilia. Information obtained from various history books of Brazil's past.
