Fun in Kissimmee

A January 2002 trip to Kissimmee by CMcrystal

My sisters and I planned a fun-filled week in Kissimmee. We had never been to Sheraton's Vistana Villages, but were thrilled with our choice of resorts!

Overview

This resort is in proximity to Walt Disney World and offers the best in room amenities. What a beautiful room, with lock-out for the second bedroom . . . which was a suite and included its own mini-kitchen, living room, and bathroom. What a treat! Decor was new, tasteful, and super clean. Of course, we spent lots of time at Disney, but also at the resort pool . . . very nice with a waterfall and jacuzzi for adults. Beautiful grounds, with walking paths winding throughout the property. Staff was excellent!

Quick Tips:

The resort has a deli, but no formal restaurant. We liked the deli for our afternoons at the pool, but chose to find area restaurants for dinner.

Best Way To Get Around:

A quick drive gets you to Disney. At the resort, you can walk to all locations easily. Close to Sea World too. I think the resort offers a shuttle to Disney, but we didn't use it.

Disney, Sea World, and nightlife.

Best Things About the Resort:
Beautiful resort! Clean, new, and accommodations were spacious. Lock off second bedroom suite, with mini-kitchen, living room, and bath. Nice grounds with walking paths. Outdoor bar, nice deli, and swimming pool with waterfall.

Resort Experience:
We loved it here! The lock-off second suite was wonderful, and provided us with lots of privacy. Grounds were very nice, and there was even an adult pool area. Super nice staff and close to everything to do in Kissimmee.

Sheraton Vistana Resort
8800 Vistana Centre Drive Orlando, Florida 32821

Best Things Nearby:
Kauai is lovely, and everywhere you look, it is green! The beach is really close by, and the grounds of Embassy connect via walking paths to the grounds of other resorts along the shore line; so you can walk to their beach and restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
Although there is no beach because the waters are too rough, the view is wonderful--crashing waves all the time. Also, the staff is superb; one person in our party was physically challenged, and the staff picked us up by golf cart EVERY DAY, ANY TIME to take us to our car, lobby, etc. So friendly and accommodating!

Resort Experience:
Spacious, with a tropical feel--bamboo furniture, floral patterns, etc. Not brand new, but it was super clean and had two very large bathrooms. The grounds are very clean; there was someone raking the grass every day. There are paths throughout the property and beautiful flower gardens behind lobby. The pool is part sand, part concrete--really neat. At night, tiki torches abound, creating a wonderful island atmosphere.
