Resort Experience:
Paniola Greens is in a beautiful setting. I read all the reviews for this resort before getting there, so I was prepared for the wind. The first three days we had beautiful weather and no wind...then the winds started and continued all through the rest of our stay. However, the winds didn't spoil our time there and we enjoyed our stay very much.

We had a second floor unit. Once we arrived I wished we had a ground floor unit as not only do you have to go up to your unit, but up a long flight of stairs to the bedrooms. The master bedroom and bath are very spacious and we had a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. The second bedroom is quite small and the drawer space etc is not too great. The main floor is very nice with a spacious living/dining room. The kitchen is quite small, but sufficient for the amount of cooking we did. The kitchens are not equipped with a lot of things, and we found we had to frequently wash dishes to keep us supplied.

The check in/out was done very efficiently by the staff and were very accommodating to all our needs. Even though this resort is probably "out of the way" for those who want to spend a lot of time in the Kona area, we did not find it that inconvenient.

The staff helped us schedule two great activities. We scheduled a full-day tour of the entire island that was definitely a must for first-timers. We also scheduled a two-hour plane ride that never happened because of the mechanical problems, and then the weather. They were very helpful and gave us a refund without any questions asked. I would definitely recommend this resort!

This restaurant is excellent, from the appetizers to the dessert! Of course, in Hawaii, you cannot beat the outdoor dining overlooking the ocean, so the atmosphere is also excellent!

We had the "Chilly Shrimp", which is their Peel and Eat done up in Southern Style. We also had the Jenny's Favorite Smoothie--cranberry juice, strawberries, and non-fat raspberry yogurt. What a refreshing drink! As an entree I had their Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi. The garlic mashed potatoes are scrumptious! We barely had room to split a delicious Key Lime Pie between the four of us.

We enjoy this restaurant so much that we have been to the one in Chicago and the newly opened one at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Jameson's is a traditional favorite of Hawai`i residents on the Big Island. This restaurant offers sunset dining in a casual atmosphere with great views of the ocean overlooking the Magic Sands Beach. Jameson's specialty is seafood, and the delicious entre that we had was the Mahi Mahi sauteed with macadamia nuts. There are also steak and chicken dishes, along with a variety of salads on the menu. It is located in the Jamison's Hotel and the outside doesn't look anything like a fine dining restaurant. But once you enter you are immediately aware that it is going to be positive experience.
