This Comfort Suites was very new and clean because it opened in April, 2003. It is across the street from the Ohio State Fair. It’s the first street off of I71 and 17th Street -- easy to find and get to. We could have walked to the fair saved the $5 fair parking fee. There were indoor corridors with three floors. The elevator was much used going up but we usually used the stairs going down. The free daily USA Newspaper kept us informed of the news. The rooms were quiet. I would recommend this facility because the rooms are spacious -- most have two queen-size beds and a sofa bed with microwave and refrigerator and a safe. The bathroom had a full-size tub with shower, one sin...Read More

Attraction | "Ohio State Fair--Roasted Turkey Leg (low carb)"

Quote:
A roasted turkey leg is $5 at the Ohio State Fair and is one of the the best eating and deals at the fair. It is almost a meal for two people. It is very nutritious because it is all meat and very easy to eat and carry around the fair. Fantastic eating if you are on a low carb diet.

If you attend the Ohio State Fair, do not miss eating a turkey leg.

Attraction | "Ohio State Fair-Blooming Onion"

Quote:
A Blooming Onion eaten at the Ohio State Fair is delicious. A little high in fat because it is deep fried but oh so good! It is low carbs but the fat content is high because it is deep fried. One onion is fun to share with one or two other people. A little too much just for one person. When you attend the Ohio State Fair, do not miss it.

Attraction | "Ohio State Fair--Ice Cream"

Quote:
If you go to the Ohio State Fair, you have to visit the dairy building and buy some ice cream. Beware though--if you ask for two scoops, you will receive about a pint of ice cream. It is hard to eat it before it starts to drip. But it is SO good on a hot Ohio State Fair day. You can order chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla and sometimes other flavors. My favorite is strawberry. While you are in the dairy building, take a look at the Butter Cow display. This years display honored the Wright brothers. Also, you can purchase various "Got Milk" items, like a cow, "Got Milk" apron, tote bag, etc. But the ice cream is delicious and they serve very generous portions. If you go to t...Read More

Attraction | "Ohio State Fair-Deep Fried Veggies"

Quote:
If you visit the Ohio State Fair, you must eat deep fried veggies that can be zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, and mushrooms. Very low carbohydrates but very high fat. Great for a low carb diet. Whenever we got these veggies, all three of us would share. We all enjoyed these veggies. Except for the high fat content, it was healthy and we were eating our veggies.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites. We were very pleased with this location. Very pleasant personnel who work there. Early in the day, we saw a man in his 40-50s talking on the phone and slightly heard him talking about the hotel -- we thought this might be the owner. Then later in the day, we saw an older gentleman behind the desk who might have been this man's father. The next day, we talked to the young man at the desk. We asked if his father was the owner but he said he was a nephew. We asked about the young man who had worked the night before and he said that was the owner's son. He said his grandfather owned several hotels and the whole family works to help run them. So we had really seen the grand...Read More
