This Comfort Suites was very new and clean because it opened in April, 2003. It is across the street from the Ohio State Fair. It’s the first street off of I71 and 17th Street -- easy to find and get to. We could have walked to the fair saved the $5 fair parking fee.
There were indoor corridors with three floors. The elevator was much used going up but we usually used the stairs going down.

The rooms were quiet. I would recommend this facility because the rooms are spacious -- most have two queen-size beds and a sofa bed with microwave and refrigerator and a safe. The bathroom had a full-size tub with shower, one sink, hair dryer. The shampoo, conditioner, and two bars of soap were appreciated. The towels were soft, fluffy, and smelled so good. We appreciated the morning breakfast in the hotel lobby. Also, coffee, hot water for tea, and juices were available during the day.
We enjoyed the warm indoor swimming pool with its high ceilings and skylights, but no hot tub. The second floor balcony and sitting area was nice to sit and watch folks as they checked in. The murals about Columbus in the lobby were very well done. The water fountain in the entrance was beautiful and musical. We watched the state fair fireworks under the covered drive-through porch with the Columbus fire marshal (it had been raining).
We especially appreciated the wake up call because we could not figure out how to make the clockwork correctly.
Getting to the fair was easy. Just a left off Carla Street onto 17th Street and the fair is right there. We found the easiest way to get to the hotel after the state fair was to leave the fair via Hudson Street, get on I71 South and get off at Exit 111, 17th street. We avoided all the traffic leaving the fair. We plan to stay here for the 2004 Ohio State Fair next August.
