Willaimsburg - So much more than History!

An August 2003 trip to Williamsburg by Moppy

Williamsburg ranks #1 as our favorite vacation destination. We vacation together one week a year, ages 9 through 72. This destination definitely offers choices: biking, fishing, water and amusement parks, dining, shopping, shows, and museums. A short drive to Newport or Norfolk will uncover new options.

This is a great Thanksgiving holiday place. We prefer to fix our own traditional dinner so we go to Ukrops (a great food shopping experience), gather up the the fixings, and cook dinner at our Fairfield timeshare.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

The Williamsburg area is biking friendly and offers fairly level riding, however I recommend you bring your own bicycles.

We have eaten here three times over the past several years and have been impressed with the consistency of quality food and service. As a former chef, I am not easy to please. The food is prepared as indicated on menu, there are no attempts to introduce cheap ingredients, and it arrives hot and in a timely fashion. The service persons do not disappear into some mysterious and unaccessible corner, nor do they hover over you. They are knowledgeable and gracious.
