Rockin' in Banff

Overview

Quote:
Where do I begin, there is so much to see and do. There are several touring companies that will take you on bus tours or walking tours. We liked Discover banff tours. If you have kids they will like the Sulphur mountain Gondola ride as well as all the wildlife you will encounter. There is whitewater rafting and climbing walls that we experienced. This was alot of fun and not too expensive. Also the quaint little shops in the town are wonderful and I recommend Welche's Chocolate. They have everything under the sun and are a hit with the tourists.Quick Tips: When they say don't feed the wildlife . . . they mean it. I gave a mountain goat a potato chip and the next thing I knew he was tryng to c...Read More

Thea's House

Hotel | "Theas house"

Quote:
The house was very luxurious and cozy. When you first walk in there are 25 foot floor to ceiling windows in the foyer that give this place a lot of charm. We had a king-sized, hewn log canopy bed that was most impressive, as well as a fireplace, hardwood floors, and a jetted tub in the bathroom with a skylight. We were to say the least overwhelmed.

The price per night is a lot but it is really worth it, and they give you a discount if you stay seven days or more. They feed you well in the dining room and the owners Jami and Greg are super friendly.

Best Things Nearby:Everything nearby is great. The resort is in the national park and the views are tremendous. It's nice to wake up to a view of mountains and trees. We liked the tours that the resort offers and also there is a complimentory shuttle to the town of Banff.Best Things About the Resort:We loved how relaxing and quiet this timeshare was. The activities on-site were well planned and constantly ongoing. This is a kid friendly resort, so there were things for our 8-year- old and 1-year-old to do (playgrounds, activities, etc).Resort Experience:We were quite surprised at how small the units were at first glance. We had four people in a one-bedroom uni...Read More

Spaghetti Cascade Plaza

Restaurant | "Old Spaghetti factory"

Quote:
I have eaten at several Spaghetti Factory's and this one is just as nice. The decor with the antiques and memorabilia is a nice touch. The menu offers more than just pasta for the finicky eater. We had seafood and steak as well. The food was fairly fast, hot, and delicious

Craigs' Way Station

Restaurant | "Craigs Family restaurant"

Quote:
Craigs restaurant is a nice, laid-back place where you can bring the family and be comfortable. The food has a "western" flavor and you can get breakfast all day. The portions were a good size and the food was good. The service was very friendly as well.

They offer a free introductory climbing lesson on their 30 foot in-store wall. If you are feeling adventurous you can take a beginner lesson for $15. There are other lessons available. I felt very safe in their hands. The staff are quite knowledgeable.

Discover Banff--Pictographs

Attraction | "Discover Banff Tours"

Quote:
We really enjoyed the wildlife tours as I have two children. There are a few to choose from at different times of the day to see different types of wildlife. We saw bears, elk, mountain goat, and fox. The cost for a three-hour tour is $45 and for 12 and under $25. Well worth the money.
