We really enjoyed N. Wales, although we didn't get enough time there. Lots of history and sheep, plus beautiful mountains!

Squirrels Guest House
Beautiful house. Large, clean rooms, hearty "full English breakfast" and very close to town. Great value and an enjoyable place to stay. The en suite bathrooms were also large and well appointed.

This place is right on the river so the views are great. The food was also very tasty and they have several ales on tap in the bar. They also appeared to have a quite extensive wine list. We had "bangers and mash" (although that is not what they called it), trout, salad, and steak. Good meal!

Llangollen Canal
A leisurely cruise down the narrow Llagollen Canal being pulled by a draft horse - a relaxing trip and could be very romantic if you are alone with your sweetie. We had our kids with us and, while they enjoyed it (look for the fish over the side), it was a bit too leisurely for them. The drizzly rain didn't help, but we still had a good time.
