Branson Ladies

A July 2003 trip to Branson by detype

Quote: Branson was a great spot for five teacher friends to visit, shop, sight-see, and attend theatre. We saw seven shows and have fun memories of each of them.

Uncle Joe's BBQ

Restaurant | "Uncle Joe's"

Quote:
We found this food overpriced and poor. The ribs were meaty, but not tender and very chewy. Some choices came with the entree, but additonal common replacements suggested on the menu cost $2.85 each, so that the meal became pricy. Service poor -- staff uninformed, unfriendly, and slow.

The Starlite Theatre

Attraction | ""Lost in the 50's""

Quote:
This show was lively, well-staged, and thoroughly enjoyable. Performers were talented and very perky. Great choice of music, with colourful sets and costumes. Well received by audience.

Very small run-down theatre in the older part of Branson. Decor, set, and scenery very tired and dingy.

"Elvis" was a fairly good performer as well as some of his back up. However, I'd rather see a younger "Elvis" who didn't require quite as much make-up. Wife on keyboard seemed tired of the whole thing. Grandson on drums did a great job. All in all memorable (for the wrong reasons). I wouldn't recommend it.

Talking Caves

Story/Tip

Quote:
Amazing. If you have never visited caves, it's well worth the 30-minute drive outside of Branson. Guided tour is informative and interesting. Fairly easy to maneuver through the passages as there are hand rails to support and steps built over the rock.
