There is lots to do in Quebec City, including the Citadel (a walled military fortification in the heart of downtown), touring Le Chateau Frontenac (the hotel that looks like a castle), and shopping in the historic French downtown. It is about two hours away from Tadoussac where you can take a whale watching expedition during the summer to see several types whales which travel the St. Lawrence to the mouth of the Saguenay. Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac

Hotel | "Le Chateau Frontenac"

This hotel is not to be missed! You can enter on the lower level and purchase tickets for a living history tour of the premises. It is well worth the money. We went with a young man dressed as a printer from about 100 years ago. The hotel originally hosted its own printing presses to print the menus and handouts given at the hotel. This young printer took us on about an hour-long tour throughout the hotel. He was very lively and entertaining. We visited one of the hotel's rooms and learned about the hotel's history as well as amenities for present day guests. We had plenty of questions, and our guide was able to answer them all.
