Visiting the MatSu Visitors Center at the junction of the Glenn and Parks Highways will afford the visitor a breathtaking view of the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet, the Knik Valley, and Pioneer Peak.

Quick Tips:

Local motels include the Alaskan View Motel, with views of the Chugach Range and Knik Arm from all rooms and the Wasilla Best Western.

Several Bed and Breakfasts and camping areas cater to more adaptable travelers.

Best Way To Get Around:

Booking a ride out of Anchorage to Wasilla on the Mat Valley Transit and spending a day touring the area before catching the Talkeetna Stage Lines for a ride to Talkeetna. Making advanced arrangements on thransportation and lodging is always advised.

A small museum featuring historical items, a townsite with cabins, and artifacts depicting early 20th century life in Alaska. Built in 1932 as a community hall, the Dorothy G. Page Museum and Vistor's Center became the center for social functions, including dances, political meetings and basketball games. It has served as a museum and visitor's center since it was repaired in 1967 during the Alaska Purchase Centennial.
