1st trip to Disney World

A March 2003 trip to Orlando by Katy in STL

Quote: We stayed at Summerbay Resort -- it was so nice. It was roomy, we loved the full kitchen, and the washer and dryer really helped since we had kids. It was so nice to just get up and hop on a shuttle to the Disney park!

Overview

Quote:
We loved the fact that everything was so close and the staff at Summerbay was great! They have a nice pool, kiddie pool, and lake on the property with a trampoline in the water and a kids activity center.Quick Tips: Since there is a full kitchen we went to the grocery store and got some snacks, drinks, and some breakfast items so we were not always eating out or getting stuff out of the vending machines, which is nice with kids.Best Way To Get Around: At the resort everything is at your fingertips--pool, grocery store, different activities for the kids... Outside the resort everything was very close. The shuttles were great because you don't have to pay for a taxi and you don't have ...Read More

It was agreat experience for all of us. The food was really good and none of us could finish because the portions were so big. You do not get any silverware just like in the olden days, but it was fun to eat like that and watch the different competetions. A great dinner show!

We did the character lunch and it was so fun for the kids -- they got to meet every character and get pictures and autograph. You have to get an autograph book -- either get a Disney one before you leave town or from a store in Orlando because the ones in Disney were about $10.
