Beautiful Gulfport

A May 2003 trip to Mississippi by sprat

We stayed at the Chateau Charmant in Gulfport, MS. The resort is really nice but they really need to replace the furniture. The weather was wonderful for the seven days we were there. It was in the mid 80s but a cool breeze off the water. There are all kinds of activities like jetskiing, swimming, flea markets, gambling, or just sitting on the beach. I would definitely go back.

We were there during the Harley-Davidson weekend. It was pretty exciting seeing all of the different Harleys. Shula Seafood is a must--the food was fantastic!

Quick Tips:

If you love to gamble bring plenty of money. There are 12 casinos in the area. If you don't want to cook, don't worry, there are at least 50 places to eat at in the area.

Best Way To Get Around:

We rented a van at the airport. You really need a car to get around to see the complete area.
Best Things Nearby:
It is only 70 miles from New Orleans. The dining options are wonderful. Casinos, I love to gamble. The resort is right across the street from the beach.

Best Things About the Resort:
I loved having a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. The area is beautiful. Right across from the beach.

Resort Experience:
The furniture in the unit really needs to be replaced, and also the towels. There is only one 19 inch TV and no VCR, so if you have kids you really need to bring one. The people were really friendly.
