The Cannes Film Festival feels like Spring Break gone Hollywood. It's fun, exciting, and exhausting!

As a writer, filmmaker, and film-buff -- I was in heaven. On average, I saw 3-4 films a day, partied all night, and only slept when I had to. It was an amazing time and for anyone who's into film -- a must do at least once.

Quick Tips:

Plan well in advance since accomodations book up.

Best Way To Get Around:

Taxi.

Cafe at the RitzBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

During the day, the place to be seen, to see, do do buisness is the Ritz Carlton cafe (either on the beach which has an amazing but very expensive buffet or at the terrace cafe.) Your $7 cappucino is worth every penny -- a perfect place to watch all the people go by and most likely spot a few movie stars.

Window ShoppingBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Every haute couture designer can be found here, just in case you need to buy an emergency dress for a film premier. The shopping is amazing, if you can afford it. Personally, I just window shop and day dream.

Le Suquet
This area is very charming and much cheaper than along the main drag, otherwise known as 'la Croisette.' I found many great Moroccan restaurants, Italian restaurants and typical southern French bistros. It's the place to be!

Attraction | "La Croisette"

La Croisette
Cannes - an upscale beach town, is usually a lazy and slow place until the film festival descends on it. During the festival chaos reigns on La Croisette, (think Las Vegas strip). It's so crowed you can barely walk, impossible to find a taxi, or a cafe table. However, if you do find a table, it's a great place to people watch.

When you're not taking in a movie, or recooperating from a night of heavy drinking and dancing -- a day on the beach is a fun change of pace. The cold water will wake you right up.
