Park Inn & Suites

Hotel | "The Wharf Inn"

This was a nice little hotel--a little smaller than I had expected, but very clean. As are most people in town, the staff was very friendly. The rooms were a good size, and the hotel has a sauna, a restaurant, an indoor pool, and a Jacuzzi. The rates were around $75 CDN.

If you're travelling to the Miramichi for a particular event, you're better off to book well ahead. Not only do the room rates go much higher, but in a town this size, there are only about four hotels and a few bed-and-breakfasts.

The Goodie Shop

This restaurant is done as a '50s diner. The prices aren't far off. This is probably one of the best priced meals I have had in a long time.

They do your standard stuff like hamburgers etc, but being on the Miramichi, they also have some really good seafood options. Breakfast is served all day, and the Sunday buffet is great, as are the desserts. They don't usually take reservations, and although there are lots of seats, there are usually lots of people too. If you can avoid normal 5pm supper, and go around 7pm, it's usually much quieter.
