The Galleon is the best in Key West--pretty much did it all in seven days. Snorkeling, parasailing, the southern most point mansion, Hobie Cat, Sunset cruise, weekend at Mallory Square, walking tours, beaches, Blue Heaven Restaurant, Crabby Bills two-for-one oysters and drinks everyday, "THE BULL" on the top floor--incredible time!

Snorkeling, sunset cruise, parasailing, walking tours, Southern Most Point Mansion B&B, "THE BULL" (top floor) Sloppy Joe's, The Blue Heaven Restaurant, cemetery.

Quick Tips:

Review all tours before taking any. Look for the best tour. Use The Galleon's help. The intro party that the galleon have is kind of good, but a waste of time.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking, driving, scooter, bikes.

Resort Experience:
The Galleon has restored a lot of the rooms. Very nice, clean, and very Caribbean. We were checked in early. We were supposed to have a nice view but it wasn't cleaned yet so we took the room they had available at the time. Good thing, it was chaotic at 4pm. We would of had a great view if we had been one floor up, but there was a great big palm tree in our way. We didn't spend very much time in our room though.

The Blue Heaven was on the Food Network ($40 a day by Rachel Ray). It is always packed so get there early. We sat at the bar and had a great tropical drink and people-watched. This is a very small outdoor place with sand and roosters walking around. The food looked incredible, but it was Sunday and we wanted to order from the regular menu but couldn't because it was Sunday brunch. We planned to go back during lunch, but we got to busy.

Sloppy Joe's

Restaurant

This is a great place to go at night (after 10:30pm). Bands are usually Thursday thru Sunday. I wouldn't recommend this place during the day because there is a different cruise ship that docks everyday and everyone piles into the restaurant to eat and drink.

We stayed away from the tourist restaurants and went off the beaten path. We asked locals and walked all over Key West to find places. We also found this place at the Southern Most Point. It is a restored B&B mansion -- for $8, you can tour and take advantage all day at their pool, which overlooks the ocean. It has a full service bar and it feels like you are staying in paradise. We stayed the all day.

Across the street, there's a bar that rents hobie catamarans. This bar overlooks this ocean and you can take your drinks out to the beach. The owner will let you rent a Catamaran for $40-50/hour as long as you know how to sail. He will ask you a lot of questions so be prepared.

Take advantage of the friendly personnel at the Galleon. They will book all your tours and you will get a discount. They will also tell you the best tours.

The parasailing is great. We went to the yellow boats. I can't remember the name. Be sure to tell them that you want to stay up a long time and dipped. We were dipped three times and stayed up for approx. 20 minutes. They will make a CD for you. They will let you view the pictures before you buy them.

You can pick up a walking tour guide. I recommend walking every morning. We did the entire book between 6-9am every morning.
