Teaching an English Class to adults in a refugee camp, I have learned that life is chaotic in Palestine--children have been shot, families have allegedly been buried alive, and residents have been harassed by military groups. Still, getting to know the people, eating huge amounts of falafel and hummas, taking a guided tour of the Old City were all highlights for me. I also enjoyed visiting the Turkish baths, the tourist shops, the mosques, and the site where 600 Palestinians were allegedly arrested by the IDF due to my personal interest in the political turmoil of the region.Quick Tips: Look as Western as possible and learn some Arabic.
