Great hotel, perfect location. There's a bit of a buzz around this hotel. They have had the same doorman for as long as anyone can remember. The man can meet you once, and remember you twenty years later. It's almost scary. I didn't believe it until I went back with my dad (who hasn't been there in at least 10 or 12 years) and he was greeted by first (and last) name. The hotel was nice but if you're travelling with more than one child, you might want to seriously consider a second room. As in all old hotels, the rooms are a little small. The location was the best part. Three blocks down from St Catherine's St. A block from the Molson Center. You could walk to most things, and if it was too far, the s...Read More

Not something I would do again. The food was average, and the service was terribly slow--25 minutes to get a menu in an empty restaurant--and not overly great. I saw our waitress three times--menus, ordering, and bill. In my opinion, there are much better places to get good Italian food.

This place was amazing. I love Chinese, so it's usually something I seek out. This was quite possibly the best I have ever had. I'm not big on places that claim to be Chinese and might as well be in a food court. I much prefer authentic without the option of chicken balls. This was great.

Not a bad spot at all. Best to avoid the weekends though. We were in twice - once on Friday night, and once on a weekday afternoon. The difference was amazing. Friday night, it was hard to move, much less play. During the week, it's much quieter, and actually, almost relaxing. Lots of fun, a little loud, but hey, it's a casino. They're supposed to be...

Old Montreal/Vieux Montreal

Old Montréal is very easy to get to, and hard to leave. As much as Tourisme Québec would like to tell you there are 6000+ parking places, I have yet to find one. The subway is definetly your best bet. It is a fairly small area (approx 3/4 square mile), but it is loaded with things to see and do. The first thing we always to do is grab a carriage ride in from of the Palais de la Justice. (You can't miss it -- giant building with huge columns down the front.) The carriage rides aren't cheap (C$40 per 30 minutes, or C$65 per hour), but given that it's not an expense that comes up too often . . . From there, you have plenty of things to choose from. The streets are loaded with small cafés and rest...Read More
