The Hague (in Dutch named Den Haag or 's Gravenhage) is the seat of the Dutch government and of the famous warcrimestribunal for former yugoslavia. It's a very busy city with a lot of things to do.
One can spent days on the beach in Scheveningen or Kijkduin. Scheveningen is one of Hollands most popular beaches. In summer it can be very crowded over there but it definately worth a visit because there is a lot to do over there. The are also some amusementparks in the Hague like waterfunpark Duinrell, themepark Drievliet or the miniature city Madurodam. So there's fun here for everybody.
There also are some very good museums. In the Mauritshuis you'll find paintings by old masters and the Gemeentemuseum you'll find great pieces of art by for example Piet Mondriaan. The Museon is a popular-science museum.
Close to the Central Station there are a lot of modern buildings, like the Cityhall by architect Richard Meier or the ministery of public health by Michael Graves. But The Hague also has a lot of historic buildings to offer like Noordeinde-palace, the Peacepalace which is the seat of the international court of law, the Binnenhof (the parliament) or Huis Schuylenburg.
If you're tired after having visited all these places you can take a relaxing walk through the dunes.
