The Hague (in Dutch named Den Haag or 's Gravenhage) is the seat of the Dutch government and of the famous warcrimestribunal for former yugoslavia. It's a very busy city with a lot of things to do.

One can spent days on the beach in Scheveningen or Kijkduin. Scheveningen is one of Hollands most popular beaches. In summer it can be very crowded over there but it definately worth a visit because there is a lot to do over there. The are also some amusementparks in the Hague like waterfunpark Duinrell, themepark Drievliet or the miniature city Madurodam. So there's fun here for everybody.

There also are some very good museums. In the Mauritshuis you'll find paintings by old masters and the Gemeentemuseum you'll find great pieces of art by for example Piet Mondriaan. The Museon is a popular-science museum.

Close to the Central Station there are a lot of modern buildings, like the Cityhall by architect Richard Meier or the ministery of public health by Michael Graves. But The Hague also has a lot of historic buildings to offer like Noordeinde-palace, the Peacepalace which is the seat of the international court of law, the Binnenhof (the parliament) or Huis Schuylenburg.

If you're tired after having visited all these places you can take a relaxing walk through the dunes.

Quick Tips:

Visit Madurodam, this miniature city shows you everything Holland had to offer. On a sunny day, go to the beach at Scheveningen.

Best Way To Get Around:

In The Hague, trams are the best way to get around.

Attraction | "Madurodam, Miniature Holland"

If you want to see Holland, Madurodam is a good start. It is definately the fastest way.. All mayor monuments can be seen here in miniature. You can see everything from the Anne Frankhouse to windmills, from canals to the national airport. All of this in beautifull maquettes. You cannot miss this attraction.

One of Holland's most popular beaches is that of Scheviningen, The Hague. It has a wide sandbeach with a lot of activity. On the beach on New Year's Day, there is the New Year's Dive. Hundreds of people dive in to the coldwaters of the Northsea. In summer it can be very crowded in Scheveningen.
On the boulevard there is always something to do. There you'll find the beautiful Kurhaus Hotel, a lot of shops, and the Sea Life aquarium. Close to the boulevard are the casino and some theaters. Several tramlines stop at Scheveningen.

Duinrell is a amusement park where it's all about water. It has great tropical swimmingpools but also some scary attractions like Splash or the Waterspin (waterspider). You can and will get wet in this park, so take care. Besides this there are also some good shows, restaurants and bars. When you have children, this park is a must.

Attraction

Maybe cinema is not the right word for the Omniversum, but I couldn't find a better one. The omniversum is a huge 840 m² dome. It shows planetarium and nature movies. The 360 degrees screen and the great surround sounds make it a great show.
