You must get on a list for your Safari. It often takes 30 minutes to an hour before you are seated, which is why we go to the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. While you are waiting there is so much else to do. They often have live animal entertainment for the family outside of the shop. You can also shop while you wait for unique Rainforest Cafe merchandise and novelties.

The food is good but somewhat pricey. The experience is so interesting that you forget about the price. While dining you will see and hear rainforest animals and may get caught in a rainforest storm. Bring a jacket. It's very cool in the rainforest.

DO NOT MISS the Lion King show. It plays at both Animal Kingdon and Magic Kingdom and is worth the 1.5 hour wait. Get food and drink and relax in line. You will not regret it. My daughter was having such a great time that it brought tears to my eyes while we sang the songs along with the cast.

Downtown Disney

Attraction

Downtown Disney can take a whole day visit. We usually plan at least one day because it is a less intense atmosphere than the amusement parks, but incorporates fun for the kids with shopping and dining for the adults. It can be a great and inexpensive way to spend a day in Orlando. While there, visit Lego, Ghiradelli's for chocolate and ice cream, and The Rainforest Cafe for dining.

If you have ever wanted to visit Africa and see the animals native to the continent, you must go to Busch Gardens Tampa. It is the next best thing. The train is a free way to get a safari experience. But you can pay for your own Safari and will be driven out on the plains and experience some of the behind-the-scenes adventures.
