NICE FAMILY RESORT. NICE ATMOSPHERE. BEAUTIFUL AND TRANQUIL SURROUNDINGS. LURAY CAVERNS WILL BE ETCHED IN MY CHILDREN'S MEMORIES FOREVER -- AWESOME! THIS WAS A VERY BEAUTIFUL, ENJOYABLE AND RELAXING TRIP FOR US ALL. YOU NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE THE RESORT IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Hotel | "Eagle Trace at Massanutten"

Best Things Nearby:
LURAY CAVERNS- ABOUT 40 MINUTES AWAY. WASHINGTON DC ABOUT 2.5 HRS

Best Things About the Resort:
The amenities at the resort--five pools, mini-golf, golf, driving range, kid's activities, kid childcare, swimming lessons, arts and craft, evening activities.

Resort Experience:
This is a large complex situated throughout several miles of mountain range. Lots to do onsite but you need a car to get from one local to another. There is a restaurant and a pizzeria deli located on site for convenience. It is clean, family friendly, and has many new pool areas. I understand a water park is to be added.

Unit configurations vary. Some have lots of stairs. We had a one-bedroom with full kitchen. It was a lower unit. Only one TV in the unit and no washer and dryer or whirlpool tub, but some in the next scetion had these. Lots of stairs as the units are built into a valley--if this is a problem confirm a handicap unit upon exchange as no changes once confirmed.

Restaurant

This is an old country-style restaurant, familiar throughout the South, but unknown to us northerners. The restaurant is situated with a general store atmosphere and decorated with old/antique items. Family friendly.

Wonderful menu selections of local fare. If you'd like bisquits and gravy, pork barbeque, or smoked country ham, this is the place -- lots of other items to choose from for some good ol' country cookin!

Nice restaurant with good service. It gets crowded around 7 - 8pm, so take advantage of the early bird specials if you have the opportunity. Interesting selection of food--everyone will enjoy something. One of the best meals that I have had and there is lots to choose from in my home neighborhood! Overlooks several of the golf course holes.

July 4 Celebrations in Harrisonburg SquareBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "JULY 4TH-celebration on the Square at Harrisonburg"

Main Street USA celebration including a parade, some local vendors, kids activities, laser light show after dark, and free music. Many locals packed picnic suppers and enjoyed the open air music presented at the court house lawn. Friendly, fun, relaxed environment. We understand this was their first organized celebration, and a success it was! It was a gathering like no other we've been to- down home, friendly and full of spirit!

Attraction

A 1.25 mile walk that will keep you in awe. My 4-year-old even enjoyed it. Stunning stalacticite and stalactimite formations. A terrific guided tour and awesome natural organ are all part of the presentation. Ticket price includes a neighboring museum about automobiles, but my young children were hungry for lunch and not interested in checking this out. Children six and under were free, admission age seven and up was half price, and adult admission was $17.
