Quote: It had been 14 years since our last visit to the Club Bali Hai on the island of Moorea, French Polynesia. The island was as beautiful as my wife and I had remembered. This time we returned with our 11 year old son, so that he could see our first timeshare resort.

The three-tour excursion package that we purchased at the tour desk in the lobby was the highlight of our trip. The package included the Landrover Circle Island tour, a glassbottom boat lagoon and reef tour, and the shark and ray feeding, lagoon snorkeling, and beach barbecue tour. The happy hours at the Club Bali Hai poolside bar were great to attend to meet other holidaying guests and local people.Quick Tips: Book the excursion packages early in the week to beat the rush. After that, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.Best Way To Get Around: The best way to get around is to walk or rent a moped/scooter. You can easily drive around the island of Moorea in one hour on a moped/scooter. Wa...Read More

The Over the Water bungalow was a separate studio unit for four people. It had a queen-size bed that was separated from the rest of the unit by a sliding wall. It had a living room that had a pull-out sofa with a queen-size bed and two arm chairs. There was a partial kitchen in the bungalow. The kitchen had a stove with three burners and a medium size oven. There was also a medium size refrigerator.

The bathroom had a large elogated shower, a sink, and a toilet. There was also a tropical plant garden growing in the bathroom. The deck of the bungalow was above the water. Sitting on the deck was very relaxing. Watching the tropical fish from the deck was another fascinating activity.

Watching sharks from three to fifty feet in front of you is an incredible thrill, especially when they come towards you and veer off 18 inches from your face. Swimming with rays, feeding them, and touching them in shallow lagoon waters is another exciting thrill. Having a beach barbecue and lagoon snorkeling amongst the reef afterwards are good cool down activities.

We didn't know what to expect when we signed up for the "Circle Island Tour"! By the time it was over, six hours later, we had an experience that we won't forget. Eight of us adults piled in the back of the Landrover and our 11 year old son sat up front with our Tahitian driver/guide. The driver took us around the island stopping off at the abandoned set from the Marlon Brando movie "Mutiny on the Bounty", a tropical juice and liqueur factory, an abandoned native Tahitian religious site, a modern Protestant church, a viewpoint near the top of the centre of the island, a mountainside waterfall high up on the mountain, and a black pearl centre. The view from Belvedere Viewpoint of Opunohu Bay, Mt...Read More
