More than a beach in San Juan

A January 1994 trip to San Juan by willgo

When I had a semi-business trip planned for Puerto Rico, my 21 yr old daughter thought it would be fun to travel with me in January. She thought of San Juan as just a beach and fun to visit. She was surprised by all the other options!

We spent 5 days on business and fun with our local friends dealing with all the traffic. Old Town and the Fort were highlights along with all the shopping. Although English is the official language, most people speak only Spanish.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Stay in the tourist zone only if you want to do alot of walking. Taxis would be preferable to driving a rental car.

Hotel | "El Canario"

This B&B was a small unit owned by an American couple. They were very helpful in getting us acquainted in the area. We had a spacious bedroom and small bath but full use of the patio and lobby area to entertain friends. The breakfast was served buffet style in the patio.
