Nuevo Vallarta is the perfect location for you to relax and have the best time ever, and the Grand Velas Resort is the best place you can go to enjoy your vacation. With super quality and an excellent service you'll feel like a king during your stay here.

Nuevo Vallarta is a very good place to relax. It is very peaceful and it is not so crowded and noisy like Puerto Vallarta. Also, the beach in Nuevo Vallarta is nicer than the one in Puerto Vallarta, so I recommend it more if you want to take a swim or go out with a kayak.

Quick Tips:

I checked out almost all the resorts in Nuevo Vallarta and after staying in the Grand Velas Resort, all the other ones didn't look so nice.

I really suggest that even though you don't stay in the Grand Velas that you make a reservation to go to one of the restaurants on site. The Frida (Mexican-French restaurant gourmet style) or Lucca (Italian cuisine)--these restaurants are very, very tasty and the service is excellent, so I highly recommend them.

If you've never been to an all-inclusive resort or you don't like resorts that are all-inclusive, Grand Velas will change your mind - it's a great resort with an excellent quality, in food service, and all the facilities.

The all-inclusive fee per day per person is and I think it's worth it, because you get room service, any drink you can think of, staff friendliness and the best resort in the area.

This will be my first option when I go to Puerto Vallarta!

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around is in a taxi. It is kind of expensive but it's the only way you can go to Puerto Vallarta or visit other locations. The taxi charges to take you to the resort, but you arrive there very quickly, in about 10 minutes.

A walk on the beach before sunset is very nice. It's not crowded, so it can be very romantic. Take a lot of sunscreen because after a few hours your skin will turn black and then it will be itchy all over.

The excellent service starts as soon as you arrive. They receive your baggage, give you a cocktail drink in the lobby, and invite you to take a complementary treatment in the spa.

After you finish your drink they show you the beautiful resort, and believe me you'll be impressed with every corner of the resort--perfection is everywhere. The room I got was a parlour suite (for honeymooners). It was room 433 and had an amazing view of the ocean and the pool. It had a king size bed with very comfortable pillows. Oh! I forgot to say that they have a pillow menu so if you don't like the ones already in the room you can change it for another one in the catalog. The Jacuzzi was great, as was every detail of the unit. The furniture brought in from Bali was magnificent!

After I rested awhile in the unit I went out to the pool--WOW! This is a very cool pool that has three diferent levels, and believe me when I say this is the best pool I've ever seen. I drinked some piña coladas and then went to the restaurant with my wife. The Restaurant Azul is oceanfront, so it's very nice and there is a lot of variety in the menu.

Also take the spa treatment they give you, you will enjoy it very much. They also have a lot of different massage treatments that are very good and not so expensive. I did'nt even want to leave the resort facilities because you have everything you want to do on site. The lobby bar at night is great you can watch the ocean and take a few drinks while you relax before or after dinner. The room has everything you need, it has a big TV, a small refrigerator with sodas, tequila, vodka and rum, if you finish the bottles don't worry they'll bring you more. The room service is excellent so if you feel like not leaving the room for a meal, ask for them to arrange you the meal in the balcony for you.

FRIDA

Restaurant

This is not your regular Mexican restaurant. It's a whole different picture -- a Mexican restaurant with a French touch.

When they give you the menu, you will be surprised by the exotic dishes they offer. I recommend you to try the bean and oyster soup and the lobster soup. For dessert, the watermelon soup is delicous -- I know it sounds weird but it's DELICIOUS!!!

The waiters are very friendly and helpful and they can recommend a good wine or appetizer. You have to try the Mexican coffee with tequila -- it's a MUST!

It's very important to make a reservation because this restaurant is always in demand. Since it's not a huge restaurant, you may not be able to get a table if you don't make reservations.
