Getting to the Sights in Rome

This is my advice on how to get around Rome.

You can drive if you are absolutely crazy or hire a vespa which is recommended if you are spending more time in Rome. Buses and Trams run from 5.30am to about 11pm and run every 15-30 minutes. You can in fact get night buses which are less frequent also. Tickets can be purchased for daily, weekly or monthly travel depending on how long you stay.

We were only in Rome a short time and were interested mainly in the well known sights so we caught a tourist bus that stopped exactly where we wanted to go. There were two or three different routes which it took and they suggest doing one each day to see different parts of the city. This was the best way of getting around as you knew were the stops were and that they ran every 15 minutes, therefore not having to wait long for the next.

Quick Tips:

Purchase when you are in Rome. Your hotel can assist with where to buy tickets.

Best Way To Get Around:

As above.

Attraction | "La Fontana di Trevi"

The Trevi Fountain attracts more tourist coins than any other fountain in Rome. It is believed that a thrown coin over your left shoulder will ensure your return to the Eternal City some day and the custom goes back as far as 1860.

Personally I wanted to see this piece of art which was designed and sculpted in marble such a long time ago as it is one of Italy’s trademark tourist attractions.

There are some great pizza stalls that sell pieces by the weight. A great time to re-fuel and take in the view.
