Craziness of New Years "Vegas Style"

A December 2002 trip to Las Vegas by Slia09

Quote: New Years of 2001 my husband and I sat home and did nothing! The following day we made plans to go to Las Vegas for New Years 2002. The excitement of Vegas--the ringing slots, the shows, and the porn flyers on the street. WHAT A TOWN! VEGAS BABY!

This was my first time in Sin City and I could not believe the sights of the town. The hotels and casinos are enormous and dazzling. The decor in the Bellagio was like entering a palace. You ride an escalator to a moving walkway with Opera music playing. After watching the movie Ocean's 11, every time we walked by the water fountain in front of the Bellagio, I just heard "Claire De Lune" playing in my head, the final scene of the movie. If you are into the Renaissance time and medieval jargon, then visit Excalibur and see their performance "Tournament of Kings." It is very well-done and you can see the entire show from anywhere you sit in the stadium. Also, hunky guys come out in the middle...Read More

Jockey Club

Hotel | "The Jockey Club"

We went through our old timeshare company that was bought out. We became members of RCI during our stay in Vegas.

We had a one-bedroom suite. The staff was very nice at the Jockey Club. The pool is very small, but if you are looking for a hotel without a casino, then I suggest The Jockey Club. It is right in the center of the Strip, next to The Bellagio and across from the Aladdin. The location was very accessible to everywhere we wanted to go.

Bellagio Buffet

We loved this brunch buffet! I suggest you get there early so you don't have to wait. We arrived around 9:30am and there was no line. When we were finished eating, the line was wrapped around the casino! I am allergic to eggs and many breakfast foods, but at 10am, I was able to eat! There were so many meat dishes, shrimp, and fish selections that I couldn't stop eating and the London broil . . . I am getting hungry just thinking about it! Their are many different styles of foods from American cuisine to Mediterranean: foods like falalfel, chumus, and Israeli salad. For the healthy eater, many fruits and veggies, freshly squeezed juices, and many salads to choose from. There are als...Read More

Todai Seafood & Sushi Buffet

Restaurant | "Todai Seafood & Sushi Buffet"

If you are a sushi lover, then Todai is the place for you! We went for New Year's Day dinner and they had king crab legs, stuffed shrimp, and lobster. The selection of fish is great and quality is very fresh. For those who don't like sushi, there are a lot of Japanese cooked foods and you can make up your own stir fry!

The staff is very nice. Sometimes there is a short wait, depending on the time you arrive. Enjoy!
