Best surf camp to stay is in Hermosa (approximately 2 miles outside of Jaco). Loma Del Mar, the Garsons own it and it is great and cheap, you can stay at the camp or rent a villa which is private. There is a waterfall that you have to hike to through some people's property that is just wonderful. You can hike up the waterfall in your swimsuit bare-foot because the rocks are like sandpaper so you will not slip and the water is pretty cold but oh so nice and romantic if you are with your honey. Very nice Villas for rent. With or without air conditioning. Very clean and you get breakfast every day at the camp below cooked by local women, which is excellent. Not far from the beach (appr. 1 mile). The staff and owners live there and are some of the nicest people you will meet in your life! They will also pick you up from the airport in San Jose if you don't have a car.

We traveled here for one night. And it was worth it. The hotel stay includes entry into the hot springs part of the resort which is incredible with heated pools that have Tiki bars built inside the pool, hot springs you can get in to relax.

Picture taking is excellent with lots of tucans to see, lots of tropical flowers. Great place to relax.

They have any type of spa treatment you can imagine for an extra fee (from 35 to 100 usd or packages that have a little of this and a little of that).

Clean rooms, great food, and sometimes you can hear the volcano!!!
