WINTERS BREAK IN LAS VEGAS

All hotels have a theme and have differnt attraction in the front. Bellaggio is my favourite with the dancing fountains. The Treasure Island show was about pirates and a battle between the English and the Americans. Ceasar's Palace has its own shows in the Forum itself and the Venetian is definitely worth a visit inside with the canals and just look at the sky -- it's always daytime there.

Quick Tips:

All hotels offer free parking so pick the one that's best suited for what you want to see. Before buying anything in the hotels, go and visit the Belz Outlet Mall. You'll find Reebok, Rockport, Tommy Hilfiger, and loads of designer labels as well.

Best Way To Get Around:

Public transport is very easy. Taxis available and buses about to get from one end of the strip to the other side.

Best Things Nearby:
THE STRIP IS APPROX 10 MILES AWAY. THE RESORT OFFERS A FREE SHUTTLE TO THE STRIP. RED ROCK CANYON IS APPROX 30MILES AWAY.

Best Things About the Resort:
ONE OF THE BEST TIMESHARES I HAVE STAYED AT. IT IS GOLD CROWN AND THE RESORT HAS A POOL, GYM, FREE INTERNET ACCESS, FREE SHUTTLE TO THE STRIP, AND REALLY REALLY FRIENDLY STAFF. SECURITY GATES AND PARKING FACILITIES FOR EACH UNIT. THE RESORT IS SET IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREA OF FORT APACHE.

Resort Experience:
THE UNIT ITSELF IS BRILLIANT. WE HAD A TWO-BEDROOM WITH TWO BATHROOMS ON THE FIRST FLOOR, WHICH HAD A BALCONY AS WELL. YOU COULD SEE THE LUXOR AND STRATOSPSHERE IN THE DISTANCE. WE HAD A SITTING AREA, DINING AREA, AND KITCHEN/BREAKFAST AREA ALL IN ONE. LAUNDRY FACILITIES IN THE UNITS AS WELL AND THREE TVS. VERY HIGH STANDARD AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

DO NOT BE OFF OF BY THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT CLOSE TO THE STRIP -- THE RESORT HAS A FREE SHUTTLE AND SET DROP-OFF/PICK-UP POINTS, BUT THE DRIVER CAN BE FLEXIBLE AND WILL DROP YOU OFF ELSEWHERE IF POSSIBLE. WE ASKED TO BE DROPPED OF AT THE RIO AND HE WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO DO THIS. WE HAD A CAR AND IT ONLY USED TO TAKE US TO THE STRIP (ABOUT 30 MINUTES AWAY, SO NOT TOO FAR). GROCERY SHOPS WITHIN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES FROM THE RESORT. VERY EASY TO GET TO THE STRIP AND ALSO AFTER A WHILE, WE FOUND SOME SHORTCUTS TO AVOID THE TRAFFIC ON THE STRIP. I HAVE STAYED ON THE STRIP AS WELL AND I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK TO THIS RESORT.

LAS VEGAS HAS LOADS OF PLACES TO SHOP. BEST TO CHECK OUT THE OUTLET MALLS FIRST. THESE HAVE ALL THE DESIGNER LABELS AND AT MUCH CHEAPER PRICES THAN BUYING FROM THE MAJOR SHOPS. THE BELZ MALL IS JUST AS YOU GO OUT FROM THE STRIP -- LOADS OF SHOPS SELLING CLOTHES, SHOES, EVEYTHING YOU WANT. WE WENT LAST NOVEMBER AND WE DID ALL OUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING HERE -- DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY ANYTING ONCE GOT BACK TO THE UK. IF YOU'RE DRIVING FROM LA TO LAS VEGAS OR VICE VERSA, MID WAY BETWEEN THE TWO CITIES IS BAIRSTOW, WHICH HAS LOADS OF OUTLET MALLS AND LOADS OF BARGAINS AS WELL. THIS IS WHERE WE MANAGAED TO BUY TWO TROLLEY SUITCASES FOR $35 TOTAL -- VERY CHEAP AND DEFINTELY WORTH A VISIT. MOST OF THE CASINOS HAVE THEIR OWN SHOPS, BUT THESE ARE YOUR BIG NAME SHOPS. FOR INSTANCE, CAESAR'S PALACE HAS HUGO BOSS, ESTE LAUDER, AND FAO SCHWARZ, TO NAME A FEW. MOST OF THE HOTELS HAVE THE BIG SHOPS, SO THEY'RE DEFINITELY WORTH LOOKING AT.
