The Westin Philadelphia offered an almost-Ritz experience for a significant discount.
This hotel, which was formerly a Ritz Carlton, retains much of what made that hotel so special. Classical architecture, a demure lobby and superb location means that even those who once loved the Ritz would be happy here.
The main entrance, some what difficult to find, is on 17th Street, just off Chestnut. The hotel opens onto the ground floor, requiring guests to take an elevator to the lobby. Bellmen were helpful and friendly, and two were waiting when our cab pulled in.
