The island of Ibiza belongs to the Pitiusan Islands situated in the south of the Balearic Islands. The name was given by the ancient Greeks –- the Pitiaus –- means ‘pine island’. Their geographical location, benefited by the sea currents, made them a strategic point on the westward Mediterranean navigation routes. This contributed to the establishment of several cultures which gave their own name to the main town -- Greek - Ebysos; Punica - Ibosim; Arab - Yebisah; Castellana - Ibiza; Iberica - Eivissa. Ibiza is only 45 km long and 25 km wide, and has a year round population of 100.000. Today it’s a popular place to spend a vacation -– every year approximately two million people ...Read More

Best Things Nearby:This pleasant, small resort which belongs to the Select Vacation Club chain is located just 150 meters from the beach at Port des Torrent on the south-western coast of Ibiza; 10 minutes drive or a half hour by bus from the bright lights and nightlife of San Antonio. Interesting hillside town of San Jose is only 10 minutes away, with the larger Ibiza Town 20 minutes away by car. Best Things About the Resort:Every apartment features fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, nice furniture, and cool tiled floors, together with an individual balcony or sun terrace. Furniture is nice and convenient. We had two-bedroom apartment with two beds in each bedroom and...Read More

During this tour we are going to visit a part of the area which UNESCO declared a World Heritage Site. We start our walking tour at the main gate called the Portal de les Taules. The current drawbridge was added in 1990 and was rebuilt using old photographs. The niches alongside the gates contain the statues of the Goddess Juno and Cayo Julio Tiron Cetutico. Above the gate you see the stone coat of arms of Felipe II as well as inscription in remembrance of the year the gate was built: 1585. Once beyond the gate, you see the statue of Lucio Oculacio. Former ancient market, today lovely plaça de Vila will be on your right but you turn left and walk up along sa Carrossa (do not miss the Macabich m...Read More

Continue walking up and you reach Carrer Sant Ciriac. On the corner, you find Capella de Sant Cristofol and nice inexpensive souvenir shop, Shambala, across the street from the chapel. Carry on up the Sant Ciriac and you will find a small chapel built in 1754 in honor of the saint from whom the street takes its name. According to the legend, the chapel marks the exact point where King Jaume’s troops entered the walled area and took the city over. From the chapel you turn left and continue your way up along Carrer Major (every town has the Main Street), which leads you to the highest point in Dalt Vila. The houses along the street date back to the 15th century. One of them (on your l...Read More

From San Antoni take a road due north. It leads over the Serra de La Mala Costa to the village of Sant Miquel, where you will find a fine hilltop church. Small resort town Port de Sant Miquel is 3km north of the village. Cueva de Can Marçà is off the road leading into Port de Sant Miquel (Puerto de San Miguel), about 90m from the Hotel Galeón - from the San Miguel’s last street turn right and follow the signs "Port San Miguel" and "Grotte, Cueva, Cave". There is an excellent view of the bay of the Puerto San Miguel (also known as Puerto Balanzat) from the cave’s entrance. After descent downstairs clinging to the face of the cliff you enter a cave at 14m above the sea level. The cave i...Read More

The Torrent Bay is one of the most romantic places on Ibiza. The bay naturally looks over the Badia de Sant Antoni and characteristic mountain with funny name Nono (258m). We enjoyed the area around Torrent Bay - it is quiet and really beautiful. In our opinion, the golden sand beach is the best in San Antoni area. The RCI's Torrent Bay Club where we stayed, is only 150m away from the sea. On the other side of the bay, there are two hotels and several shops (supermarket, shoe store, etc.).

Several times a day, a boat comes from San Antoni giving the visitors alternative to cars and buses.
