Paradise in the Dominican

A February 2003 trip to Puerto Plata by rivnme

I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxing an all-inclusive resort was to this 24/7 mom. We left the resort only once to go shopping in town. Two of its three restaurants are right on the water with a breathtaking view. Snorkeling is also just a walk to the beach.

Best Things About the Resort:
This timeshare was small, quaint, and very clean.

Resort Experience:
Our two-bedroom unit with a living room and small kitchen between the two bedrooms units was perfect when traveling with another couple. Because the resort was on the smaller side I feel we got first class service where you might not with a larger place.

This was one of the only resorts sitting right on the water, so the beach was easily accessible. The water was fairly warm, and according to my husband the snorkeling was very good considering you could do it right off the beach. The food was great with a lot of variety at the buffet, but if you wanted to dress up a bit you could go to either of the other restaurants and get a nice sit down meal. There were planned activities going on all the time. Except for the fact that it's not a big tourist place so the in-town shopping isn't that great, we wanted for nothing! It was a wonderful vacation.
