The BallPark In Arlington
If you live close by Arlington (which we do), you can easily count on being entertained with numerous of activities.

Our most personal family favorite is going to Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. If family togetherness is what you strive for, then these two parks will do the trick wonderfully. If these two attractions aren't your "cup of tea" (so to speak), Arlington has a lot more to offer.

ARLINGTON'S ATTRACTIONS:

  • Air Combat
  • Antique Sewing Machine Museum
  • The Ballpark in Arlington
  • Fielder Museum
  • Arlington Museum of Art
  • American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum
  • Tierre Verde Golf Club
  • Johnnie's High Country Music Revue
  • River Legacy Living Science Center
  • Six Flags Over Texas
  • Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
  • Six Flags Mall
  • And So Much More
  • BRIEF HISTORY ON ARLINGTON:
    In 1845, a trading post was created on Caddo's Indian territory, Bird's Fort on Trinity River. In 1876, this town, which was later named "Arlington" had no choice but to move when a railroad was built through it. Arlington has since grown into a city of many established businesses, industrial and recreational companies. Arlington is conveniently located between Dallas and Fort Worth. A short distance drive is all it takes to visit "A City In Midst Of It All".

    Quick Tips:

    We prefer to go to Six Flags Over Texas during the cooler months, which is from early May until June. We skip the sun scorching months -- July, August, and sometimes September. When the heat is on, we keep cool by visiting a cool and refreshing water park, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

    Summer months in Texas can become unbearably hot and humid. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself from dehydrating. Seriously.

    Best Way To Get Around:

    The most reliable and best way to get around Arlington is having your own vehicle. As long as you have an Arlington map, you should do fine.

    Please note: enclosed pictures are from Arlington Convention Bureau's website as mentioned above.

    Superman Tower of Power
    INTRODUCTION:
    We've always made sure to purchase our tickets in advance. If you are planning to buy your tickets when you arrive at the gate when they first open, be prepared to wait. This line waiting should give you a little taste of what you are going to be doing once you get inside the park to ride the attractions.

    Of course, this all depends on when you go to Six Flags. If you go during off season time (before and after summer time), you'll have a better chance boarding the rides a lot quicker and faster. Plus, it will be much cooler.

    Lets begin our adventure at Six Flags!!

    RIDES/ATTRACTIONS:

    Thrill Rides:

  • Superman Tower of Power
  • Shockwave

  • Titan

  • Flashback

  • Runaway Mountain

  • Batman-The Ride

  • Mr. Freeze

  • Space Shuttle America

  • Texas Giant

  • Splash Water

  • Runaway Mine Train

  • And Lots More Thrill Seeking Rides!
  • OUR FAVORITE(S):
    We can't comment on the newest attraction, Superman Tower of Power, because in all honesty, we're too chicken to ride this one. I'm partial to the older rides, like Shockwave, Texas Giant, Runaway Mine Train, and so forth. One Word of Warning Regarding Flashback: From the very first second you take off, you won't remember to breathe. You truly don't have time to!! You take off like a flash and before you know it, you are already back. It's THAT fast!! Don't say I didn't warn ya.

    Kids & Family Rides/Attractions:

  • Roaring Rapids

  • Judge Roy Scream

  • Texas Chute Out

  • Bumper Cars

  • Mini Mine Train

  • Splash Water

  • Looney Tunes USA

  • Yosemite Sam's Gold River Adventure

  • With Lots More!
  • OUR FAVORITE(S):
    If you have small children, they will LOVE the Looney Tunes Land. They will have the time of their lives there! If you go during the summer time and want to cool off, Yosemite Sam's Gold River Adventure is the perfect way to relax and yet at the same time, refresh in the cool A/C.

    If shows and events are what you are seeking, then Six Flags Over Texas can provide this easily.

    SHOWS & EVENTS:

  • Western Street Comedy Show (Summer Only)

  • Crazy Horse Saloon Show

  • Merlin's Magicademy

  • State of Rhythm

  • Texas Ranger Wild West Adventure (Summer Only)

  • Sam Houston's Texas

  • OUR FAVORITE(S):
    The only one that we can recall is the Western Street Comedy Show and this was only as we were passing by. We really didn't go to Six Flags to watch the shows, we came to ride their thrill seeking rides!

    For information on the park's hours, dmission tickets, and detailed descriptions of their rides and shows, please visit Six Flags Over TexasWebsite.

    The Black Hole
    INTRODUCTION:
    Here is Texas' largest water-oriented family park that features ten separate entertainment areas, huge water raft ride, abundant games for adults and kids of all ages, and so much more. Let me introduce you to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

  • Lazy River

  • OUR FAVORITE(S):
    My son LOVES The Black Hole. You'll enter a dark brooding-like spaceship plunging through its tentacles, ending with a huge splash. Another favorite is the Sea Wolf, the largest water raft ride in America that plunges through more than 83-feet of high speed banks and heart-stopping in a raft large enough for the entire family.

    For small children's enjoyment, the Hook's Lagoon is something to brag about. Five stories of family entertainment that includes:

  • Hook's Hideout

Now imagine this scenario: Just think of all of the lucky people who are cooling off at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. So, what's stopping you? Come join in on the fun. Believe me. You'll be glad you did.

    On October 24, 1990, a decision has finally been made to build a new ballpark in Arlington. On April 24, 1992, they began construction and was completed 23 months later. On April 1, 1994, Texas Rangers and New York Mets opened the ballpark stadium with a contest. However, three days later, the first real game was played between Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers on April 4, 1994. And the rest is history…

We've only been to The Ballpark in Arlington once and hope to make an attempt to visit them again during their next season. If you are looking for an exciting adventure for your family, you should try to come here at least once. And remember; don’t forget to take advantage of their other attractions offered at the Ballpark. This would be a wonderful all day outing. Have fun!
