Our first anniversary in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

A nice sized studio
Best Things Nearby:
The marina is a short walk, and the town with its many restaurants, bars, and shops is not much further. The resort is on an awesome stretch of private beach with no vendors and few people at all.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort is nicely secluded on the Pacific side of the cape, and although no ocean swimming is allowed because of the tremendous undertow, the resort has 3 great pools. The beach is great for a romantic stroll and photo opportunities. The resort has 24-hour gated security, so between the private beach and monitored entry, there are no pesky people trying to braid your hair or sell you a watch for a 'really good price'.

Resort Experience:
We stayed in the studio unit, which was plenty of room for the 2 of us. It had a separate sitting area and a nice balcony with incredible view of the ocean. The photo is from our balcony. We sat through the timeshare presentation, and took advantage of the discounted tours they offered. There was no high pressure sales pitch by our guy, though I heard some complaints from others about their salespeople. The tour discounts were a good deal, though, and it was worth our time just to see the other units on the property. We'll probably go back and enjoy a one or two bedroom someday.

Lisa takes off...
If you've never done it, which I hadn't, you must. It's a lot safer now than it used to be...you're no longer dragged off a beach, but rather let off like a kite from the back of a boat. Once you're up there it's a serene, quiet experience like none other.

Allow yourself a couple of hours for the whole thing...for two of us we were out on the boat for nearly an hour, and you need to consider time to get down to the beach and any delays that may occur. I think the regular price was about $50/person, but we got discounted tickets for listening to a sales presentation.

Cabo San Lucas Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Getting ready to board...
The sunset cruise on Oceanus sets off from the marina and takes you along the bay side of the cape where you'll see sea lions and pelicans as well as the famous Arch or 'arco' at the tip of Baja. You then sail around to the Pacific side where you'll see other resorts and several high-end homes in the "Beverly Hills of Mexico" along the seaside cliffs. You then head back into the bay as the sun sets with a live band performing in the background on board. Drinks (beer, margaritas, etc.) are included.
