Branson on a Tour Bus

A June 2003 trip to Branson by Edra

This was our first "tour" and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Branson is a busy, busy place and it was very nice to have someone else do the driving. We attended six shows in 2.5 days.

Restaurant | "The Hard Luck Diner"

We stopped in here for a quick lunch. All of the waitresses take request and sing for you as you eat. They have casssettes and cds for sale. Several sang while we enjoyed our lunch. The menu was standard cafe fare. I had chicken fingers and they were better than I expected. One in our party asked for a sample of the special for the day. They said they had never had a request for a sample, but the waitress quicly returned with a small serving of the salad. Others in our party had fried catfish, and spaghetti dinners. Everyone enjoyed the food and the entertainment.

Restaurant | "Farmhouse Cafe"

We had a quick lunch here. The setting is small and we had a short wait for a table. The food was prepared and served quickly. It is in the heart of downtown "Old Branson". It appeared to be a family run business. There was a small salad bar and also menu items. We had hamburgers and they were tasty.

Restaurant

Our tour group had a reservation for this restaurant. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the food was well prepared and the entertainment was wonderful. We had a choice of several entrees and I choose prime rib. It was cooked to perfection and the serving was more than ample. Most of the men in the group had more than they could eat.

Terry Jordan provided the entertainment on a grand piano. He took requests and could play most that was asked for. He is a very talented pianist. He also had tapes and cds for sale. I purchased one and have enjoyed it since returnning home.

Attraction | "The Dutton Family"

We were with a tour group so I don't know the price of the tickets, but I'm sure they were not overly expensive. This is a family show that all members of the group can enjoy. Ages range from babies to grandparents in the show. All play instruments (ages 4+) and sing and dance. This show was the highlight of our trip.
