Where's Arnold?

A June 2003 trip to Arnold by Carolyn A. B.

Fun in the big trees of Northern California, along with seeing the "ghost towns" of the gold rush era.

There are original steam engines in Jamestown which were operating in the late 1800s. Many of these trains have been seen in movies, such as Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood. During the months of April through September there are train rides on the weekends, but if you miss the train ride there is plenty to see at the station and in the round house. Volunteers are busy working on the old trains and are happy to talk to you about how the old steam engines work. It's a thrill for anyone who is fascinated by trains!
