Best Way To Get Around:

Holiday InnBest of IgoUgo

Hotel

This is an older Holiday Inn with outside entrances to the rooms but the rooms are nice. The one thing we like is the breakfast that comes with the room. A sit down, good old fashioned country breakfast.

Cracker Barrel Old Country StoreBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Cracker Barrel"

We have eaten at a lot of Cracker Barrels in our travels because we know exactly what we are going to get - a good old fashioned home cooked meal the way grandma used to cook it.

The Cracker Barrel in Opelika is very convenient to the Holiday Inn when we stay there.

Cock of the WalkBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

This restaurant is open only in the evenings and features catfish, chicken and other seafood items.

Not only is the food good but it is also a fun place to eat with the waiters throwing your cornbread to you.

Factory Outlet Stores
Whenever we make a trip to Auburn we have to make a trip to the outlet mall. Our two favorite stores are Bugle Boy and Hanes, although Hanes does not carry as much men's clothing as it once did.

Bugle Boy always seems to be running a sale and if you know what you are looking for you can save some serious bucks.

The Grand National is part of the Robert Trent Jones golf trail in the state of Alabama.

Grand National features two championship courses and a Par 3 Executive course. All greens feature bent grass.

The course is built around the 750 acre Saugahatchee Lake with 32 of the 54 holes bordering the lake. So if you don't like water this is not the course for you.

The Links Course was named the second best public course in the U.S. by Golf Digest.
