Best Things Nearby:
Greenhorn Creek Golf course, Saddle Creek golf course, many wineries, cute, quaint towns, scenic historic sites, several lakes, and, of course, Lake Tahoe is only a couple of hours drive.

Best Things About the Resort:
Our unit was spacious. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Two bedrooms downstairs with one full bath and full-sized Murphy bed in living room and master suite upstairs with little outside balcony. Huge balcony off LR with nice gas bar-b-que. We had fabulous view of golf course and mountains. Having been long-time timeshare people, the only drawbacks I saw were the kitchen utensils -- pots, pans, etc. were a little more skimpy than we have had before, but we certainly could make do! However, they DO provide spices, salt and pepper, liquid dish soap and laundry soap, plenty of paper towels, and dish sponges which many resorts do not provide. They also have your first pot of coffee necessities.

Resort Experience:
The front desk staff was VERY friendly and helpful. They are staffed 24-7 which makes it nice.

It is a little off the beaten path, but if you want to explore the Gold Country, taste some GREAT wines, play some great golf courses, and have a nice relaxing visit, you'll love it.

You absolutely MUST have a car. There are not a lot of fancy or great fine dining establishments, but there are many nice quaint places with great food.

Within a 25-mile radius are several historic sites, lakes, and cute little towns to explore.

Beautiful restaurant located in the clubhouse of the country club. Nice view and great service. Everyone there was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good selection on menu from steaks to lamb to veal to fish and chicken with marvelous salads and soups as well as appetizers. We sampled many things and were very pleased with both the food and presentation.

Restaurant

Rodz is a family oriented restaurant. Fun atmosphere with car and old-time diner decor. Great place for kids to go.

Just general food, sandwiches, spaghetti, salad bar, burgers, fried chicken, etc. Good simple family food.

Good service and reasonably priced.

This is a great course. Not too difficult, but certainly not easy. You could walk it, but it is long, so we would recommend taking a cart with the computer so you know what is ahead. Most holes are scenic with beautiful views of homes, land, and mountains. It has quite a bit of water too. You will use all the clubs in your bag.

Great course that's difficult and challenging! Lots of hills and water. You will test every club in your bag! A must do course! Excellent condition, very well maintained. Cottages are available on the course for rentals and there are lovely houses and great views from every hole.

Angel's Camp is a cute little town known for the frog jumps every year and Mark Twain's heritage. There are several shops and restaurants worth exploring. There is a huge supermarket, SaveMart, however, we found the Angel's Food Market to be a more "gourmet" type of store, not to be missed.

Murphy's is another cute little town with many nice restaurants worth trying, lots of wineries to test. We really like Ironstone, Chatom, and Stevenot wineries. There are also some historic sites not to be missed and many little shops to explore. It is approximately 9 miles from Angel's.

Approximately 15 miles further on up the mountains is Arnold, yet another cute little town with all the same qualities to explore! There are many great golf courses available in the area as well as a couple of nice water skiing and fishing lakes. This area has so much to offer that you could spend more than just one week and still not see it all. We had our parents, children, and grandchildren with us on different days and we all had a great time exploring. A great family vacation.
