Bagel Fragel Best of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Quote:
Editor's Note: This establishment closed in May 2001.

Bagel Fragel started as a labor of love back in the 1970s, when bagel shops were somewhat rare. It still has a sort of counter-culture atmosphere. It's not slick or fancy like some of the chains that have sprung up, and they are heavily involved in promoting the local community. They have great bagels in a number of specialty flavors. Their claim to fame, however, is the fragel. It's a raisin bagel that has been deep fried, rolled in cinnamon sugar and best when served hot. Donuts are nothing compared to this wonderful treat.

Emil's Best of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Emils"

Quote:
Going to Emils is like stepping back in time. An old fashioned restaurant with wonderful food. Forget the pseudo-Italian chains, this is the real deal. Plates heaping with pastas and cheeses, it's the kind of place you can take the family to ... or someone special.

The Sunday brunch buffett is to die for. A real treat for adults looking for something special. For dinner, I recommend the prime rib, which has always been cooked to perfection when I've been there. Asian House Best of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Quote:
One of those places you always hope to find ... the place with moderate prices, no pretense, and excellent food and service. The lunch buffett is under $6, and dinners run around $10. The full menu runs for 6 pages, and includes mostly dishs from Vietnam and China. Near MSU's campus, the building was quite obviously was a fast food restaurant in a past life. It's now the home to some of the best Asian food I've had anywhere.

Lansing Lugnuts Baseball Best of IgoUgo

Minor league ball is completely different from major league ball. The athletes aren't overpaid, the crowd is there for a good time, and it's generally 'the way it should be'. Lansing's Oldsmobile Park is beautiful. Built only in the last few years, it's still sparkling clean and well lit. Parking readily available, safe and affordable. A great time on a summer day with friends and family. Special events include nights with fireworks, etc. Check the schedule at http://www.lansing.org/lugnuts.html

River Trail Best of IgoUgo

Attraction

Quote:
One of the common starting points for this groomed trail is near the Impression 5 Museum on Museum Drive. Markers along the way show you the relative distance from the sun of various planets. A nice walk in the warm weather takes you from the Impression 5 Museum to Potter Park Zoo. Very well maintained trail, this is a good day outing for people of almost any fitness level.

A great place to take the kids. Open May to December, they can pick their own pumpkins, watch cider being made, wagon rides, and other family friendly activities. Adults will enjoy the two shops where you can buy all kinds of 'country' oriented items as well as fresh baked apple pies & apple bread, and more varieties of apples then you probably knew existed.
