Overview

The downtown area of Bend is clean and inviting. Drake Park is a relaxing place for a family picnic. Enjoy the river as it meanders thru the city. Take the Cascade Lakes Drive thru the forest and up to the high lakes and recreational areas. Devils Lake and Elk Lake are popular with campers and boaters.

Quick Tips:

South of Bend you'll find the High Desert Museum which features the history and culture of the area. It has several acres of nature trails. See what life was like for the early settlers and the Native Americans.

Best Way To Get Around:

Here you'll need a car. Public transportation is o.k. in the city, but to travel to the outlying areas you'll either have to drive or hire a charter which can be a bit spendy.

Mt. BachelorBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

This 9065' mountain is one of the best ski areas in the country. The snow is dry and can last till mid-June. A large ski resort provides downhill and cross-country skiing facilities and trails. 56 km of cross-country trails and 70 downhill runs makes this a winter wonderland. During the summer months you can ride the Summit Express for spectacular views of the snow-covered Three Sisters peaks.

This is a great place..... Lift tickets: $43.00

Deschutes RiverBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

This is a very popular rafting, fly fishing and kayaking river. Enjoy it on your own or hire one of the many outfitters stationed in Bend. Either way, you'll have a great day of fun. Several campgrounds are located along the river for your use as well.
